Gallery KRUTTHUSET in Stavern

The large gray stone building is the gunpowder house, built 1777-79. Previously, a gunpowder house stood further east, but this gradually became too small. The Norwegian archipelago flotilla was based in Fredriksvern, but in the 1770s a number of Danish-Norwegian warships were also temporarily moored here.
